Meet Grace, one of our newest artisans. Grace has been a part of our artisan program since we moved to Nanyuki in March of last year. She’s learned basketry, jewelry and sewing and especially loves making baskets, earrings and necklaces. One of her favorite parts of being in our artisan program is the ability to socialize with new people and have a sense of community. Working as an artisan with GORP has allowed her to send her 3 kids to school with ease, afford her monthly rent and improve her living standards. She likes doing farming activities while she is not at work. Her goal is to start poultry farming here in Nanyuki and as well as start her own cyber business.
