Kazungu is originally from Kibera Slum but moved to Nanyuki to continue with as an artisan in March of 2021. He has been an artisan with GORP for 3 years after graduating from high school and training with us to make our basketry items. He is using the income he makes to help his mom and little brother pay for basic expenses and to save for college. Moving to Nanyuki has given him peace of mind and new opportunities that add hope in his life. Kazungu shared that our co-founder, Amy has impacted him because she was so determined to provide a quality education for kids in need in Kenya. He is inspired as her dreams have become a reality. He has dreams of becoming a programmer and has been teaching himself coding.
